Example Advanced Practice Workplace Induction Checklist

An induction programme provides the trainees with information required for their new role.   A planned program can help trainees to adjust to their new role, it is a chance to reduce any anxieties and eliminate confusion.

In their induction trainees can expect to cover the following topics: –

  • Welcome to the organisation
  • Role specific information and expectations
  • Terms and conditions of the employment contract
  • Meeting other key employees (educational supervisor/manager/other trainees)
  • Organisational information
  • Physical orientation of working environment
  • Organisational policies
  • Health and Safety / Mandatory training
  • Facilities and IT
  • Learning and development plan / Learning resources
  • Managing Issues in Practice
  • Incident reporting
  • Staff benefits and initiatives
  • Wellbeing and Freedom to Speak Up
