The University of Sheffield is inviting advanced practitioners to take part in a national research survey.

The National Institute for Health and Care Research funds the study.

Researchers want to understand how advanced practice works across primary care services in England.

Your responses will help the research team identify challenges, understand support needs and develop practical recommendations.

Who can take part?

You can take part if you work as an advanced practitioner in primary care in England.

Advanced practitioners can come from many professional backgrounds and work across different primary care settings.

Check the Multi-professional Framework for Advanced Practice in England if you are unsure whether you qualify.

What does the survey cover?

The survey asks about your role, workplace experiences, access to support and future career plans.

It will take around 20 to 30 minutes to complete.

The research team will combine survey findings with interviews, case studies and stakeholder workshops.

Together, this evidence will show which conditions help advanced practice succeed for staff and patients.

Why your contribution matters

Advanced practitioners bring varied professional experience to primary care teams.

However, roles, responsibilities and workplace support can differ between settings.

By sharing your experience, you can help researchers understand what works, for whom and in which circumstances.

The findings will support recommendations for workforce development, patient experience and the delivery of advanced practice.

Recognition for taking part

After completing the survey, you will receive an offer of a continuing professional development certificate.

The certificate will record your participation in a research project.

You can also enter a prize draw for a £50 shopping voucher.

Alternatively, you can choose to donate the voucher to charity.
