I am delighted to be appointed into the National Head of Multi-professional Advanced Practice role. Before this, I worked in the East of England as the Faculty Lead for Advancing Practice. My clinical background is as a Consultant Therapeutic Radiographer, with a focus on gynaecological and prostate cancer care.

Right now, my focus is on shaping and supporting national strategies that help grow advanced and consultant practice. A key part of this work is showing how these roles can make a real difference in improving services and transforming the workforce. I’m also working closely with the wider team to make sure we stay aligned with key government priorities.

One of my first projects will be to help develop minimum standards of governance for advanced and consultant practice. These standards will help organisations build strong, reliable frameworks that support practitioners in delivering safe, high-quality care to patients and their families. I want to ensure that we develop a culture where the experience, expertise, and professionalism of our advanced and consultant practitioners are truly recognised and valued.   To achieve this, I will provide strong clinical leadership and work closely with key stakeholders—both regionally and nationally—as well as with our regulators and professional bodies.
