Faculty activities / successes – 2021/22

  • Development of the Regional Faculty of Advancing Practice.
  • 331 new trainees supported to commence ACP training programmes.
  • Review of regional AP steering groups terms of reference and membership to better represent the diversity of ACPs and services in London and better support improvements in processes.
  • Development of task and finish groups to review and update AP commissioning processes and annual training priorities to better meet regional stakeholder and population health needs. This has resulted in:
    • review of annual commissioning processes and timelines based on employer and HEI feedback and development of digital demand survey and EOI processes which are now available for submission throughout the financial year
    • development of task and finish groups to create a primary care bespoke Advanced Practice Readiness Checklist – in response to stakeholder need
    • update of employer readiness checklist to support organisations with AP workforce planning and preparing the best environment to help trainees succeed in their learning.
  • Establishment of virtual Advanced Practice Leads Community of Practice Platform.
  • Supporting Higher Education providers with programme accreditation processes in the London region, with the following universities achieving accreditation for AP programmes:
    • University of Greenwich
    • King’s College London
    • University of West London
    • Kingston University
    • St George’s University. 
  • Publication of the Minimum Standards for Workplace Supervision guidance, supported by the regional faculties.
