HEE regions are organising a national advanced practice in midwifery webinar. Aimed at heads/directors of midwifery, advanced practice leads, service leads, obstetricians, chief nurses, and aspiring advanced practitioners.
A variety of speakers will discuss topics including, funding for advanced practitioner posts, case studies from current advanced practitioners and discussing the new education and capabilities framework for advanced practice.

Regional Advanced Practice Medicine Conference – 3 October 2022
The date for the Health Education England (HEE) Regional Advanced Practice Medicine Conference has now been confirmed as Monday 3 October 2022. This conference is free to attend and open to trainee and qualified Advanced Practitioners, working both in secondary and primary care.
The conference will be taking place on Monday 3 October between 09:00-16:30 in the Hexagon Room at the Frank Lee Centre, which is located on the Addenbrooke’s Hospital site in Cambridge. Registration will take place between 09:00-09:30.
The agenda for the conference will include:
– Update from HEE on supervision and a briefing on the national advancing practice programme
– Presentations from advanced practitioners
– Presentations from clinical speakers
– Session on advance practice leadership by the NHS Leadership academy
Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided to delegates. An attendance certificate will be provided after the event to delegates who complete a feedback form.

Regional Advanced Practice Research Webinar – 20 October
Following the successful Research Webinar held on 9 June, HEE are holding a further Research Webinar on 20 October 13:10-15:00 with a focus on the support required on a systems level to deliver the advanced practice research pillar.
This webinar is specifically targeted for East of England NHS organisational and system leaders, whereas our earlier webinar on 9 June was for an advanced practitioner audience.
Key questions which will be addressed by this webinar will include:
- What do organisations need to do to support the Advanced Practice Research Pillar?
- What are the benefits of research to organisations / systems?
- What does an organisational culture look like which can support research?
