General e-learning for health modules for supervision

e-learning resources for multi-professional advancing practice supervision

The South East Faculty for Advancing Practice have developed e-learning resources for multi-professional advancing practice supervision.  This e-learning resource has been designed to support supervisors in identifying and developing the capabilities required to supervise the developing advanced practitioner.

The e-learning resource is aimed at:

– Those new to advanced practice supervision.

– Experienced advanced practice supervisors

All of the sessions within the e-learning programme are mapped to the Advanced Practice Supervisor Capabilities Framework Advanced Practice Supervisor Capabilities – Advanced Practice (NHS England, 2025). By creating a training programme mapped to these national capabilities, this resource aims to elevate the knowledge and skills of those supervising advanced practitioners.

The e-learning begins with a skills scan which allowed supervisors to self-assess and identify their own learning needs in the context of AP supervision, following which supervisors can access module 1 and the first two sessions: Foundations of AP Supervision and Understanding the AP’s scope of practice.  Following this, supervisors can complete module 2 which contains 8 optional sessions, depending on their skills scan.

The eLearning is hosted on the Learning Hub and can be accessed by all. The link to the eLearning can be found here: https://learninghub.nhs.uk/catalogue/advanced-practice.
