Welcome to Advancing Practice Week
Advancing Practice Week returns this November, bringing together advanced practitioners, trainees, employers, educators, supervisors and professional leaders from across England. The week will celebrate the contribution of advanced practice, share practical learning and help people connect with the wider community.
This year’s programme focuses on practical learning, shared experience and the support available through the Centre for Advancing Practice. Whether you are exploring advanced practice, undertaking training, working in an established role or supporting others, there are opportunities to take part throughout the week.
Monday – The Centre Portal: Supporting Your Advanced Practice Journey
Find out how the Centre Portal can support you beyond sign-up. Learn how to access resources, connect with the wider advanced practice community and make the most of the tools and opportunities available through the Centre.
Tuesday – Supporting Success: Supervision in Advanced Practice
Explore supervision requirements for advanced practitioner trainees and hear practical examples from primary care and community settings. The session will provide guidance for supervisors, trainees and those new to advanced practice, with signposting to existing resources and support.
Wednesday – The Centre for Advancing Practice: Enabling Excellence, Recognition and Impact
Learn more about the Centre’s role in supporting advanced practice across England, including accreditation, recognition, workforce development and work to strengthen and promote advanced practice nationally.
Thursday – Digital by Design: Empowering Advanced Practitioners
Find out how digital tools and services are making it easier to access resources, connect with peers and showcase achievements. The session will highlight how technology can support modern advanced practice.
Friday – Maximising Our Impact to Reduce Health Inequalities
Hear how advanced practitioners are helping to tackle health inequalities. Drawing on examples from across the system, the session will consider how advanced practice can improve access, outcomes and experiences for the populations we serve.
