Advanced Practice offer for learning disability practitioners and autism practitioners

There is a clear need to improve clinical leadership in learning disability and autism services. As organisations develop to implement the Building the Right Support transformation, the Long-Term Plan, and the National Autism Strategy they need advanced clinical skills and leadership to transform the workforce. These advanced skills are required as quickly as possible and will support the development of sustainable training routes.

For these reasons, we are collaborating with NHSE/I to make funding available for organisations to train aspiring advanced practitioners. This offer will be available alongside additional learning disability and autism training such as the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training in learning disability and autism and is specifically aimed at those wishing to develop into advanced practitioners. Further information on the role of an advanced practitioner can be found here https://advanced-practice.hee.nhs.uk.

This offer is subject to confirmation of funding. This a scoping exercise at this stage.  If funding is confirmed, we will need to be able to act quickly to secure places this year.
